A Word for the Year

I have read a lot of stuff online. The amount of information out there is vast and incredible. But more often than not, I have reaad something enjoyed it, maybe shared it with others and moved on. Well, the other day I was browsing through my twitter account and came across this link to Bleeding Espresso. Michelle had posted an article about her Word for the year. Instead of making a list of resolutions, she chooses a word and tries to live by it. She ended her post with the question: Do you have a one-word theme for 2013?

So I thought about that article all evening, then all night and all day yesterday. The article really struck a chord with me. Maybe because I could see myself in a lot of the things she said, the experiences she has had. This article stuck with me, and I thought, what would my word for 2013 be?

Many words went through my head. First I thought maybe a good word would be CHANGE. Then I thought of POSITIVE. Then CHANGE again. I have had a good feeling about 2013. I just have a feeling that it will be a year where things will happen. When things will move forward.

FORWARD.

There it is. This is my word. Looking forward, moving forward, thinking forward, forward to the future. All things I feel this year will bring for me.

So, what’s your word for 2013?

I liked both the original post and yours. After thinking on it I decided my word for 2013 is ‘Reach’. Reaching out to people, to my friends and family, and reaching out to new people as well to develop new bonds. And reaching upwards and forwards towards my goals and dreams instead of hesitating and hanging back and being so afraid of falling that I don’t even try to climb.
