Anyone who has read this blog for a while knows full well that my sworn enemy in this country is Poste Italiane. I used to have an account with them, and closed it after years and years of frustration. It is also probably to only postal system in the world that finds it difficult to sell you stamps. And just the other day, when I went in to mail a package to my mom with the new hiked up rates, they tried to sell me a phone plan.
Ya, when Hell freezes over.
This morning, as I was happily scrolling through my Twitter feed, a tweet caught my full, undivided attention: (@newsfromitaly): Man in drives car into post office in protest after discovering €2,000 missing from account
I, of course had to investigate. Dreams of Post Office destruction have invaded my head many times in the past.
[...] The man, an account holder at the Post Office, was stopped by the carabinieri [police] and arrested. The man had found problems with his account, but was not satisfied with the assistance given. So first he kicked some ornaments and furniture in the office then left to get his car. He drove up the stairs to the entrance of the Post Office and entered the room full of people.
You can find the link to the full story in Italian here.
Now maybe he exaggerated, and he is sure in much worse trouble now than he was before, but seriously though, dude, you made my dreams come true!
